Jake Paul Says Tommy Fury Is ‘Running Again’ And Names Likely Opponent

Jake Paul has poured cold water on his latest – the third – set of negotiations with Tommy Fury.

The two fighters once seemed on a collision course for a battle between the US and the UK. Both green boxers, both undefeated, and both occupying a space between professional fighting and the influencer world.

A fight has been close to made twice now. Fury, who is the half brother of the world heavyweight champion Tyson, pulled out of the first due to illness. He was then refused entry to the United States prior to the second.

Following Paul’s defeat of retired MMA legend, Anderson Silva, and Fury’s exhibition fight in Dubai, interest in the fight grew once more and it seemed that talks had begun.

With radio silence for some weeks now, Paul posted via Most Valuable Promotions to say that Fury was ducking the fight.

“Mike Perry, it might be your lucky year because Tommy is running again.

If the fans only knew how much money I was offering Tommy and he’s still ducking me. It’s pretty sad.”

Mike Perry is another former UFC fighter – potentially the fourth Paul will fight in a boxing ring. Who recently revealed that he had received a contract for the bout.

With the YouTuber turned fighter’s recent news of a move to MMA with an organisation that rivals the UFC, it seems that any talk of a Fury fight may be done for good.

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, was recently hopefully a deal could be done, but with 2023 now here and nothing announced, Paul seems to be moving on.

Fans, largely, will be pleased that the empty back and forth may come to an end.
