King is an abandoned dog that lives on the side of the road. He looked like a scary, weird, old werewolf with a patchy mane of hair, a bony body, and a nubby pink tail.
No one in Madera Ranchos, California, wanted to find out what kind of animal he was, or maybe they already knew he was a dog, but they weren’t interested in helping him either.
Until YB Rivlores, a kind woman, discovered him and made a desperate plea on Facebook. She posted a series of photos of the dog, and then Megan Bowe responded.
Megan Bowe is the founder of Bowe’s Adoptable Rescue Pups. She confirmed the dog is a German Shepherd, but she didn’t know just how bad he was until she arrived to save him.
The dog could barely stand up. His fur fell out and he was severely emaciated. She took the dog to the vet where they determined the dog was only about 1 year old. He had broken his pelvis months earlier.
She set to work to put this broken dog back together again. He was quarantined so as to not infect the other dogs and put on a special feeding regimen. When he regained enough strength, he underwent surgery, which went well.
Megan took the dog for a daily walk to strengthen his hind legs. His hair is growing back and he’s loving going on car rides and getting treats and trying out his new dog bed.
The dog is now a happy boy and it’s lucky that Megan took action to help him. Thanks to her, the dog has a bright future ahead.
